China is the world's largest producer and exporter of silicon carbide, production capacity of 2.2 million tons, accounting for more than 80% of the global total.However, overcapacity and oversupply led to less than 50% utilization. In 2015, China's silicon carbide production 1.02 million tons, capacity utilization is just 46.4%. In 2016, total output is estimated at about 1.05 million tons, capacity utilization rate of 47.7%.
